Robert Marris was the eldest son of John Marris of South Carlton, Lincs (Person 18.1) and Agnes née Bell.

2. Other Marris trees – not connected to the main pedigree

Over the last 25 years, I have researched a number of other Marris trees besides the one accepted by both Ulster Office in Dublin and the College of Arms in London.  Many have a strong North Lincolnshire presence, with the oldest members of one line often living just a few miles away from the others. It is possible that these Marris trees connect with each other and into the main pedigree – but the missing links have not yet been found.
